5 Most Common Skin Concerns

5 Most Common Skin Concerns

Our skin is our outer armour, constantly facing the world and its many damaging elements. Because of this, it is very common to have issues with our skin. Although there are many ways that our skin can react to damaging worldly elements, there are also many solutions! Here are the 6 most common skin concerns currently in our society and a breakdown of ways to aid these issues.

1. Acne and Scarring

This is the most common issue amongst the general public when it comes to our skin. Acne definitely can appear past our teenage years and it can be caused by many factors such as diet, our environment, medications and hormones. You may have tried many over the counter products to rid you of your acne however, if the correct products and treatments are not used, acne can be worsened. If you are self-treating without the assistance of a dermatologist, we recommend turning to products that are known to benefit all skin types and are kind to your skin. A great example of this would be using a cleanser that contains BHA or AHA acids to rid acne, and using a serum or moisturiser that contains hyaluronic acid to increase hydration and calm the skin. Take a look at our M1 SELECT skincare range for some example products!

2. Dull and Uneven Skin Tones

This is extremely common for those who have underlying health issues, but not to worry! This can be fixed. Our skin becomes dull and uneven due to a buildup of skin skills and a lack of oxygen being supplied to the skin. Dullness, redness and patchy skin can be benefited by pulse light treatment, or our Skinbooster treatment which acts as a facial by injecting hyaluronic acid in micro-injections around the face to increase hydration and improve skin texture and tone.

3. Aging Skin

If your skin is starting to show signs of aging, you may be considering treatment to regain your youthful appearance. There are many ways to treat the skin by the use of over the counter products such as retinol which is a Vitamin A based serum to repair the skin. Although if you are finding your skin is showing age spots, complexion issues or wrinkles, it may be best to choose a treatment that provides long term results. Anti wrinkle treatments such as Forehead Line  or Frown Line treatment, paired with a hyaluronic acid serum such as our M1 SELECT PURE SERUM or M1 SELECT PURE EYE CREAM will help to get rid of these issues, prevent them from further occurring and hydrate the skin.

4. Wrinkles and Fine Lines

This is the most common issue related to aging. The more our facial muscles move as we express ourselves, more fine lines and wrinkles are formed in our skin. This means that the older we are, the more common it is to have fine lines and wrinkles, however this is not an exclusive treatment for our older customers. Our lifestyle greatly affects our skin. If you are exposed to damaging elements to your skin, or excessively moving your facial muscles (common for theatre actors), you will be prone to develop fine lines and wrinkles at a younger age. Anti wrinkle injections will greatly benefit this issue as they relax the muscles underneath the skin that are causing the movement, therefore ridding your skin of wrinkles and preventing them from forming.

5. Sun Damage

Did you know that the sun is the most common cause of damage to skin? UV rays can greatly damage the skin by drying out the skin, causing many skin issues such as flaky skin, acne, sunburn or in extreme cases skin cancer. It is extremely important to apply sunscreen everyday before you head out the door, so that your skin is defended and doesn’t become damaged. If we are not protecting our skin, our many products that we use to benefit our skin will either not be effective or worsen our skin. For example, if you are applying acids or retinol to your skin, the sun can damage your skin! Remember, being kind to our skin means preparing it daily for possible harm.
